Butter Buds


Caribbean Jerk Blend
The spicy flavor of the islands in your own kitchen

1 1/2 tablespoons Butter Buds® Sprinkles
1 1/2 tablespoons onion powder
1 1/2 teaspoons allspice
1 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt

Combine all ingredients. Store spice blend in a glass or plastic container with a tight-fitting lid.


How To Use It:

Jerked Pot Roast
Sprinkle 1 tablespoon spice blend on 3 pound beef chuck cross rib roast, bottom round roast or rump roast. Prepare meat according to your favorite pot roast recipe.

Island-Style Barbecue Sauce
Combine 1 teaspoon of spice blend with 1/2 cup bottled barbecue sauce. Grill chicken, pork or beef and brush on barbecue sauce during last 10 minutes of grilling.

Mango Side Sauce
Place 1 cup of cubed fresh mango or peaches and 1 teaspoon of spice blend in blender. Blend until mixture forms sauce; add 1 to 2 tablespoons fruit juice, if necessary, to make mixture pourable. Pour sauce over pork chops or grilled chicken.
